Sons In The Hand Of A Father - A Double Portion Of Fruitfulness

Matth 3:17;  Heb 5:5;  Zech.9: 13;  2Kings 2: 9-10;   Zep. 3: 17;  Ps. 127

Jesus did not launch into ministry without a Father. Remember the voice out of the heavens that said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased.” (Matt 3:17). From that day onwards, Jesus was launched into His ministry. There must be an acknowledgement from a father to a son that you are a son, so that your ministry can be fruitful. So also Christ did not glorify Himself so as to become a high priest, but He who said to Him, “YOU ARE MY SON, TODAY I HAVE BEGOTTEN YOU.” (Heb 5:5).

The bow, not the arrows (the sons) determine the direction of the arrow (Ps.127) and the bow is in the hand of the father. The arrow is called Ephraim (double fruit).  “For I will bend Judah as My bow, I will fill the bow with Ephraim.” (Zech. 9:13). If the father shoots the arrow (son) there will be a double portion on the son’s ministry. I want to know who your spiritual father is because it tells a story: not only where you come from but also where you are going.

When they had crossed over, Elijah said to Elisha, “Ask what I shall do for you before I am taken from you.” And Elisha said, “Please, let a double portion of your spirit be upon me.” (2Kings 2:9)

He said, “You have asked a hard thing. Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you; but if not, it shall not be so.” (2Kings 2:10). This word (see) actually means “if you see eye to eye with me”, or “if you have the same vision that I have, the same expectations that I have”, and only a son in the hand of a father can have the same expectation and vision.

“For I will bend Judah as My bow”. Judah means leadership. True praise and worship come out of leadership.

The father has the grace to speak order into any situation in the house. The anointing comes out of leadership, and true worship starts with the father of the house. Judah represents the position of the father. He is the leader; the Judah anointing is always the head anointing. The anointing in this house will come from the father in this house. The father-son relationship does not destroy who you are; it brings definition to who you are, to your grace. It actually says what you are. We rather look for character than charisma. In the hand of God arrows (sons) are instruments of destruction to bring down ungodly systems. Sons in the hand of a father are called to destroy the unfruitful systems and bring forth a double portion of fruitfulness.
