Ps. 139:1-16; Jer. 29:11-14; Prov. 16:1-9; Prov. 19:21; Prov. 20:18, Prov. 21:2; Eph. 2:10; Rom. 8:9-18, 28-39–The Message; (Matt. 25:41); (John 3:16); (Heb. 12:1-11)

God has a master plan for you, and so does Satan. Outside of living in the plan of God, there will be no real fulfilment. You might find temporary adventure and excitement, but ultimately you will not find fulfilment. There is a way which seems right unto man, but the end of that road is disaster. People are looking for something that will give definition to their purpose on earth. Either you connect with God’s plan, or Satan will be too eager to have you connecting with his plan for your life.

My question to young people is, “Why get onto a road you do not intend to finish?” Get onto the right road now. Does God care? Not only does He care; He mapped out the good works you were to walk in before you were born.

For 13 years, Abraham thought Ishmael was the promised son. How many people are walking with Ishmael and think it’s the promise?

“O LORD, You have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You understand my thought from afar. You scrutinize my path and my lying down, and are intimately acquainted with all my ways… For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; wonderful are Your works… Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in Your book were all written The days that were ordained for me, When as yet there was not one of them” (Ps. 139:1-16).

God knows the allotted time for each one of us. Satan will try to do everything to mess up God’s schedule. Sometimes with people’s co-operation (by only following their own plans…) he may succeed from a human perspective, but God knows the end from the beginning. God’s plan for man is never to harm him (Jer 29:11-14).

Why do people suffer? There are people who deviate from the plan of God, then they want to blame God and hold Him responsible. There is a way back, however, to the plan of God! He will never reject those prodigals who return to Him. Humanity is a picture of the prodigal son. Humanity left the path of God when Adam fell and removed itself from the Fatherhood of God. In Christ, however, the Father provided a way back – a new and living way! Sometimes that takes chastening and pain and you come back with some scars. God chastens every son whom He receives (Heb. 12:1-11). You and I have been predestined to be adopted as sons. That’s God’s plan. Satan is doing everything to derail the saints onto another path.

Many people say, “You must live your dream.” Make sure, however, that your “dream” is the master plan of the Father. Find out what it is and it will unlock everything in you that is of God. “The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord. All the ways of man are clean in his own sight, but the Lord weighs the motives. Commit your works to the Lord and your plans will be established …. When a man’s ways are pleasing to the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. The mind of man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps” (Prov. 16:1-9). Fulfilment does not always mean you enjoy it and it is nice. You have your frustrations, but deep inside you know it is your destiny and it is the plan of God for your life.

The sufferings we go through are shaping and preparing us for the glory that is going to come. We should live adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike, “What’s next Papa?” (Rom. 8:15 The Message)

God helps us by allowing difficult times because of wrong choices, but God in his wonderful love constantly shepherds us back to the mainstream of the master plan. Sometimes He uses pain and events in your life to get your attention. When that happens, God causes all things to work together for good to those that love Him and are called according to His purpose (there’s the master plan) (Rom. 8:28). His plan is that He wants us to be conformed to the image of His Son!  Let’s shake off all irrelevant baggage in our lives.

Do you want God’s plan or Satan’s plan? Let your life reflect the right choice. God has done everything possible from His side. All that’s required of you is to be honest and to submit your plans to Him, because the plans in man’s heart are many, but it is the plan of God that will prevail.
