“You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by all men…” (2 Cor. 3:2). Paul was saying; “Wherever I move, people can see you are written on my heart, you are a letter on our hearts.”  So wherever the apostolic team went, people could read sons – “living epistles” – on their hearts. People must read something that is written on the tablets of our hearts. In other words, the messenger has become the message. People read what is written on your heart. Living epistles is the way God is going to infect the world, not talking one thing and living another. “Being manifested that you are a letter of Christ, cared for by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts”. (2 Cor. 3:3). This is the way the heavenly Father wants to infect the world and expand His family.

Let’s look at the anointing and purpose of the sons: “Behold, children (“Ben” – meaning sons; builder of the family name. God is interested in extending the royal family) are a gift of the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a rewardLike arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the sons of one’s youth. How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them; They will not be ashamed when they speak with their enemies in the gat” (Psalms 127:3-5). These sons are going to stand in the gates of the city and they will deal with issues there before it comes to the house. Sons will often go where the father ministry has not gone physically.

“Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine within your house, your children like olive plants around your table.” (Psalms 128:3). Olive oil represents anointing. The anointing of the father is in the sons sitting around his table. God the Father wants to expand His family on earth and He is giving us the pattern; fathers and sons.

In this season, these sons will grow up quickly. “Let our sons in their youth be as grown-up plants, and our daughters as corner pillars fashioned as for a palace”. (Psalm 144:12). We are not going to wait ages for maturity to come; these sons will be like grown up plants in their youth. This is a result of doing things according to God’s pattern. God will only bless a multiplication once it represents Him accurately.

Maturity comes quickly in true sons. Seasons will overtake each other, “The ploughman will overtake the reaper.” True sons will outrun the father; the reason being that God wants to bring a double portion to every next generation! “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father “(John 14:12).

CAUTION: We must never allow the father-son teaching to eclipse the proper understanding of what sonship ultimately means in the eyes of the heavenly Father. An accurate view of the father-son relationship implies seeing it in the context of the Heavenly Father – Son relationship. “He who overcomes will inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be My son”(Rev 21:7). The way to accurately understand any sonship teaching is to measure it in the light of Romans 8. “For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God.” (Rom 8:19). Creation was subjected to futility in hope. There is a travail in creation – waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God. When we talk about mature sonship, we are talking about the overcomers. They are led by the Spirit of God. (Rom 8:14). And furthermore, “… not only this, but also we ourselves, having the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our body” (Rom 8:23). Sonship is a manifestation of the Son in the sons, and it is going to be a corporate experience. “As He is, so also are we in this world” (1 John 4: 17).

We have to see the powerful role the Holy Spirit in this. The Holy Spirit is going to manifest Himself in a very special way and cut short the processes that have taken too long.

May the Holy Spirit help us to see the heart of our heavenly Father. He wants to see a family of sons. He looks at everything from the “I AM” position. We must see the finished works; look through the eyes of Him who said, “It is finished.”
