God’s plan will not be thwarted. God said, I will never again curse the ground on account of man (Gen. 8:20-22), and Behold I am going to send you Elijah the prophet… (Mal. 4:5). If we believe in the finished works of Christ, the redemption of man is not the only aspect of the gospel. God’s intent is at the heart of God’s agenda. Dominion grace for God’s people in Christ is God’s agenda, not just the redemption of man. In times of storms and wilderness we lose our way from this agenda. God has not lost control; He is not making things up as He goes along. In the wilderness we must not lose faith; stay true to your true north. Whatever we go through should be a blessing to the next generation.

Nabal was from the house of Caleb, and they found themselves in the midst of change. There was a massive shift. They rejected God and desired to have a king and wanted to be as the other nations. Samuel was not pleased with this. The old was on its way out and the new was on the increase yet the old was functioning unabated and without restraint. It wanted to kill off the new that God was doing, but we find that the new was in obscurity. The anointed of God, David, had taken flight and was in the cave of Adullam (1 Sam. 22:1-2). The house of Caleb was prosperous, but the house did not have its father’s DNA. Caleb had a different spirit and followed the Lord fully (Deut. 1:36).

Let’s focus is on the house of Joseph. Now let Pharaoh look for a man discerning and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt (Gen. 41:33). We know that Joseph was chosen. He was a visionary; he had fortitude, resilience, determination and remained focused and occupied in all circumstances. He was sold into slavery and unjustly imprisoned. Now, therefore, it was not you who sent me here, but God; and He has made me a father to Pharaoh and lord of all his household and ruler over all the land of Egypt (Gen. 45:8). Who could have known that what happened to Joseph and how it happened, that this would be his end. It looked impossible and barren. If you look at the blessings over Joseph, they are more than the others (Gen. 49:22-26). That which was spoken to Abraham came to fruition in Jacob and then multiplied. In the face of adversity his bow remained firm. Joseph had dominion. Even Moses spoke concerning Joseph (Deut. 33:17). His divine power has granted everything pertaining to life and godliness (2 Pet. 1:3). This is what was spoken to Joseph.

Bethel is known as the house of God (Gen. 31:13; Gen. 35:3, 6). There God revealed Himself; the house is called ‘the house of God.’ Yet the house was functioning in its former name. It had to function differently because everyone in that city was destroyed. The city also had a weakness. An entrance is always guarded, but the entrance was the weakness and they went in through that weakness and conquered Luz (Bethel). Luz means ‘a wild almond tree.’

There was a man showing kindness, he did not stay in the city, he left the city, and when he left he built another city, but called it Luz. He built something that represented his condition and represented himself. He built something for his own benefit. The house of Joseph brought back what was rightfully theirs. He brought back divine order to the house of God, even in the midst of these circumstances, even when it looks like what God has spoken will not come to fruition. If God speaks, if God creates, He is God; it will come to pass. No matter what we are going through, no matter how bleak it looks, when the grass is greener on the other side, God has a purpose for us and it will come to fruition. It is already happening.

This is a house of fruitfulness and God says if He releases a word it will not return void unto Him. I encourage you, volunteer, participate. There is a word that was spoken which is indestructible because it is God who spoke the word. The end has already been written. It is finished, it is done. We as a house, the house of Joseph, walk in the plan, and the plan is perfect. It cannot be thwarted, it is done!
