Matt. 13:24-30; 1 Cor. 12:12; Gen. 6:1-4; (Matt. 24:38-39); (Gen. 9:22-24); (Gen. 22:17); (Matt. 2:1-16); (Gen. 12:10-20); Gen. 20:1-18; Matt. 1:1-17; Luke 3:23-38; (Job 1: 6-7, 9-11); Rev. 12:10; (Luke 22:31-32); Dan. 7:9-10; Ps. 139:1-16, 23-24; Eph. 2:10; (Rom. 8:28-29); Matt. 16:13-19
Right throughout the Bible, there are two seed lines. In the parable of the sower who went out to sew, he sowed wheat and then the enemy came and sowed tares (Matt. 13:24-30). While we sow the seed of the kingdom, there is always an effort from the enemy to sow tares in-between. It is always wise to be very careful what you listen to. Satan comes as an angel of light and sows things that sound right but at the heart of it, it is to distract you from what God has for your life. The comparison is this, the two seed lines are referred to as the sons of the kingdom and the sons of the evil one. If you look at the genealogy of Jesus, follow the seed line from the beginning of the Bible which climaxes when Jesus is born. Satan has tried throughout history to contaminate the royal seed line. Even now, he is fearful of the word becoming flesh again.
Jesus said it would be the same as in the days of Noah in the days of the coming of the Son of man (Matt. 24:38-39). Now it came about when men began to multiply on the face of the land, and daughters were born to them, that the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves, whomever they chose. Then the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh; nevertheless his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterwards when the sons of God came into the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown (Gen. 6:1-4). What troubles me is that the Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterwards, which means after the flood, the Nephilim were there again. How did the Nephilim survive the flood and the judgement of God on the wickedness of man? Five hundred years after this incident there is the story of the Canaanites in the Old Testament. Canaan was the son of Ham, and Ham was cursed by God because he exposed his father’s nakedness (Gen. 9:22-24). The Canaanites came from Canaan, son of Ham. The aim of the enemy was to occupy the land of Canaan in advance of Abraham coming into the Promised Land. He was a father and through his Seed, all the nations of the earth would be blessed (Gen. 22:17). It has become known that the seed of the woman was to come through Abraham, and the enemy knew it. The Nephilim spirit was manifested again in the land of Canaan through the Canaanites. There were two definite attempts made by satan to interfere with the royal seed line in Abraham’s life. In Canaan, Abraham, who had a beautiful wife, would ask her to say she was his sister. It happened twice but God protected both Abraham and Sarah (Gen. 12:10-20; Gen. 20:1-18). God was jealous over the royal seed line.
If you compare the genealogy of Jesus in Matthew chapter 1 for example, with the Old Testament lineage, you will notice that there are 6 names of fathers left out. The reason is that they had been contaminated. In the genealogies, it always talks about the father – the man and his son. But another interesting observation is, in four cases, the names of four women came into the picture (Matt. 1:3, 5-6). These women – Tamar, Rahab, Ruth and Bathsheba were included in the royal seed line because (by the grace of God) they married the right men who were in the royal seed line.
Satan was not finished in his attempts to contaminate the seed line. Satan knew about the birth of Jesus and wanted to prevent the Word from becoming flesh. But Joseph and Mary had been warned by God, and they fled to Egypt with Jesus. Herod tried everything, and he killed all the babies who were in the same age group as Jesus (Matt. 2:1-16). Satan knew who Jesus was. Even astrologers from the East knew when the king of the Jews was born but the people who had all the Messianic prophecies did not know.
There is a similar ignorance in the world today about what God is busy doing in the Church which Jesus said He would build. What was at the heart of satan’s fear? He knew what was written in the books of heaven and he wanted to prevent that from coming true. Satan fears what is happening in the Body of Christ. In every generation, satan has tried to stop the Word from becoming flesh – stop the line of the sons of the kingdom. Satan is trying everything to stop those who have kingdom destinies.
When satan stood in the courts of heaven among the sons of God, when God asked him, “Where have you been?”, he answered that he was roaming about on the earth and walking around on it (Job 1:6-7). He was trying to stop the seed line and interfering with it. He is accusing the brethren before God day and night (Rev. 12:10). That is his major activity; to contaminate and interrupt the royal seed line – the sons of the kingdom!
What happened to Peter? Satan had demanded to sift him like wheat. But Jesus said, I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail; and you, when once you have turned again, strengthen your brothers (Luke 22:31-32). Why did satan demand? It must be because he knew what was written in the books about Peter. Peter became a powerful apostle. Those of you who are going through tough things now, go through it, stand on your faith, stand on the Word because God is preparing you to strengthen your brothers. It takes sifting, it takes testing, trials and tribulations to prepare a man and a woman of God especially in the season we are living in. Satan wanted to disqualify Peter, but Peter came through victorious! So should you!
What is happening in the courts of heaven? I kept looking Until thrones were set up, And the Ancient of Days took His seat; His vesture was like white snow And the hair of His head like pure wool. His throne was ablaze with flames, Its wheels were a burning fire. A river of fire was flowing And coming out from before Him; Thousands upon thousands were attending Him, And myriads upon myriads were standing before Him; The court sat, and the books were opened (Dan. 7:9-10). Whether we are talking about nations, churches, businesses or individuals, there will be attempts to prevent what is in the books from coming into the earth again. Before I was born, everything about me was written in the book and the same with each one of you (Ps. 139:1-16). God knows you inside out. God knows our days! All our details are recorded before we were even born (Eph. 2:10).
Before we go into the battlefield, we must enter the courtroom in heaven to get God’s kingdom purposes into the earth. The Cross of Jesus was a legal transaction. God can legally forgive us because of what happened on the Cross. God can legally forgive and cleanse us when we meet the legal requirement of confession and repentance. A broken and soft heart gives you the legal access to what God wants to give you. Let the Lord search you! “Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxious thoughts, and see if there be any hurtful way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way” (Ps. 139:23-24). The only accusation satan could bring to God about Job was that Job was serving God with impure motives (Job 1:9-11). When you go through severe testings, ask God to show you what is happening. All things work together to shape you and me into the life of His Son (Rom. 8:28-29 – MSG). God can use all the pain we are going through to shape us, provided that our hearts stay on course and we stay connected to God’s purpose in our lives. We must consistently allow the Lord to judge the motives and intents of our hearts. When did God turn Job’s fortunes around? Right at the end when he forgave those who accused him and restored double what he had lost. Forgiveness is a key! If there is a grudge in your heart, correct that because satan is using that to accuse you. It gives him legal right to accuse us when we carry unforgiveness and anger.
Legal language in Matt. 16:13-19 – Binding– you write a contract and you bind a person to a contract. Whatever you bind, shall have been bound. To loose– dissolving of an existing contract means you are loosed – whatever you shall loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven. Has the time not come for us to step into the destinies written about us in the books of heaven? It is written about each one of us. We must step into the full destiny recorded in the book. The Lord will show us what it means.
There is a new understanding coming about spiritual warfare and true prayer. Be accurate, go into the courts of heaven first, and then you go into the battlefield. What is true for us as individuals are true for nations and for churches, for businesses. What is happening in South Africa? Do not blame anyone, rather go to the courts of heaven and bind and loose what God shows us. That is what accurate spiritual warfare is about. God has a kingdom destiny for South Africa. Find out what God has written in the books for South Africa. Let us render satan powerless!
