Invading Babylon

Rev. 18:4; Jude 1:5; Eph. 4:11-13; Deut. 28:7; Ps. 24: 1; Matt. 6:10; Rev. 11:15; Matt. 13:33; John 13:3-5; Ezek. 37:1-10

“I heard another voice from heaven, saying, ‘Come out of her, my people, so that you will not participate in her sins and receive of her plagues’” ( Rev. 18:4). The name ‘Babylon’ means gateway to heaven, but the real meaning and the implication we are dealing with today is: to confuse, to mystify or to deceive. Israel came out of Egypt, out of the land of oppression, but it took God 40 years to deal with the Egypt within them. The slave mentality came with them out of Egypt. “Now I desire to remind you, though you know all things once for all, that the Lord, after saving a people out of the land of Egypt, subsequently destroyed those who did not believe” (Jude 1:5).

Babylon and the Antichrist Spirit

Series: The Incarnation; Babylon
Sun am 22 February 2009 – Kobus Swart

Rev. 17:1-6; Jude 1:1-4, 8, 12-13, 16; 1 Peter 4:17; Rev. 18:1-5

There will be two incarnations in the end time. The truth will be incarnated in God’s people, but the lie is also going to become flesh in those who reject the Truth.

When Jesus came out of the wilderness, filled with the power of the Spirit, He employed the power of the Spirit in a different way than many Spirit filled people today would want to do it: Minister to those in need! The moment the community of Jesus exercises power apart from the story of Jesus and try to manipulate people or events in ways that short-circuit personal relationships and intimacies, we can be sure it is not the power of the Holy Spirit; but rather the devil at work. The Holy Spirit is a stranger to such religious blasphemy.

Seek A Pure Heart

Sam Festus

(1 Tim. 6:20); Gen. 6:5; (1 Kings 3:12); (Gen. 20:5-6);

1 Sam 16:7; (Matt. 6:33); Heb. 12:14b

When God looks at man, He looks at the heart. Paul says to Timothy, “Guard your heart“ (1 Tim. 6:20). “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God” (Matt. 5:8).  Your heart is where everything happens.

In a pure heart there should be no falsehood (Ps. 24:3-4). David says only those with clean hands and a pure heart can rise to the hill of God. “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” (James 4:8).
