1 Sam. 24: 2-17; 1 Sam. 26:1-10; (Rom. 8:14); (Matt. 13:37-38); (Matt. 4:3). (Heb. 4:15);

(Ps. 7:1; Ps. 11:1; Ps. 14:6; Ps. 16:1; Ps. 18:2; Ps. 25:20; Ps. 31:1); (Ps. 121:1); (Matt. 18:21-22)

We are moving away from all the religious ideas we had of what spirituality means.

The story of David and Goliath highlights the difference between the religious and the spiritual approach – even in warfare. There are two mind-sets; that of religion and that of the spiritual man. Saul brought the heavy armour to protect him from the giant. David tried it on and realized it was not going to work, so he took it off. He went to the stream and picked five smooth stones and he used a little sling shot to kill that Nephilim giant Goliath.  (more…)

John 15:15, Matthew 6:9-10; Matt. 21:18-32; Matt.  23:13-28; (Eph. 4:16); (1 John 1:7);

(Isa. 66:2); (2 Sam. 6:6-8)

The Kingdom of God expresses itself through relationships; it is not some lofty thing leaving most of God’s people uninformed and disconnected. Relationships are critically important if you are part of the Body of Christ. The Body of Christ should learn to function in the same way the physical body does; not as isolated individuals, institutions or organisations. Until this happens we are going to experience delays in reaching the full potential. It is the responsibility of every spiritual father or shepherd of a local group to ensure that relationships function correctly; that every joint is “oiled”. A joint is where two bones meet and the Bible says, “every joint will supply” (Eph. 4:16). (more…)

1 Sam. 18:1-4, 10-11, 17-30; 1 Sam. 19:18-24; 1 Sam. 20:40-42; (Matt. 11:19); John 15:12-15

Saul initially liked David, but because of David’s popularity, he became jealous and wanted to kill David several times. Saul’s own son Jonathan found a connection with David that was very unique. Now it came about when he had finished speaking to Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit to the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as himself. Saul took him that day and did not let him return to his father’s house. Then Jonathan made a covenant with David because he loved him as himself. Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that was on him and gave it to David, with his armor, including his sword and his bow and his belt (1 Sam. 18:1-4). This covenantal friendship went through unbelievable tests. Jonathan realized that his father hated David. Jonathan had to respect Saul but his heart and soul was connected to David. Jonathan had to protect David from his own father. (1 Sam. 18:17-30). (more…)

1 Samuel 22:1-2; Psalm 133:1-3; 1 Corinthians 1:26-31(Message Bible)

Currently, there are many households or local churches across the earth, who sense that God is saying, “Move on from the old church model and become a kingdom community; from the old church culture into Kingdom culture.” When we say kingdom culture, we include in the definition government and rule, but it starts with a healthy family, where each member is important and each member is functioning. We need to move away from a definition of church being a “nice” group of people as some of it is unreal. The Greek word “Ecclesia” does mean church. Yes it is a group of people, but it is not the nice, exclusive, polished group of people some often thought it was. On the surface they may not even be compatible – especially in the beginning!  1 Cor. 12:1-31; 1 Cor. 14:1-3; (Ex. 15:26); (2 Cor. 5:16); (James 1:23-24)

We are called to be a house of healing. We have to take this seriously and position ourselves in such a way that this Word can fully flesh out.

The apostle Paul compares the Church to a physical human body. To a large degree, we are the engineers of our health. The way we live in our early years will show later in life, in our physical body. God created us with every organ and its function in the body. God gave us a physical body and He wants to demonstrate something through it. In the Old Testament God told his people that if they live according to His statutes and principles, no disease would be found in their midst (Ex. 15:26), without the help of medicine. (more…)
