Sonship Revealed In Us And Conferred On Us

Our heart’s desire is that what is planted will come to fruition and that the Word will become flesh again and we will impact our sphere of influence. We know that the stature of Christ grows until we come to mature man. For I consider that the sufferings of this present time (this present life) are not worth being compared with the glory that is about to be revealed to us and in us and for us and conferred on us! (Rom. 8:18-Amp). This is sonship! The kingdom belongs to true sons, it is our heritage. The alignment with the word of the kingdom will bring about this mature incarnation. At a critical moment you will have the unveiling. But at the critical point of fruit-bearing you will find there is something similar to wheat that comes up in the field (Matt. 13:24-26). The enemy comes unnoticed and only at the bearing of what it was created for, the difference becomes apparent.

The Altar Of Incense: Activating Worship And Prayer

We needed to activate worship and prayer on a deeper level. To grasp what the altar of incense reveals concerning worship and prayer we need to understand the tabernacle of Moses, and how this was a shadow of Christ and of the Church. Col. 2:16-17 - Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.

Observe, Obey, Migrate

There have been a number of ‘Exodus experiences’ for the people of God who had to migrate in order for the promises of God to be fulfilled. It is a group of people migrating together; especially in a given time period. In nature animals migrate from one region to another for breeding or feeding purposes. It speaks of the survival of the species and it facilitates the incubation of the next generation. If there is no migration there is death. Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go forth from your country, And from your relatives And from your father’s house, To the land which I will show you” (Gen. 12:1).

Let Us Walk As The House Of Joseph

God’s plan will not be thwarted. God said, I will never again curse the ground on account of man (Gen. 8:20-22), and Behold I am going to send you Elijah the prophet… (Mal. 4:5). If we believe in the finished works of Christ, the redemption of man is not the only aspect of the gospel. God’s intent is at the heart of God’s agenda. Dominion grace for God’s people in Christ is God’s agenda, not just the redemption of man. In times of storms and wilderness we lose our way from this agenda. God has not lost control; He is not making things up as He goes along. In the wilderness we must not lose faith; stay true to your true north. Whatever we go through should be a blessing to the next generation.

Our Mandate In This World  – To Be Salt And Light

Today I want to speak about the mandate that was given to us by the Lord Jesus Christ to be the salt and the light of the world (Matt. 5:13-15). When we look at the state the world is in today, are we a little behind schedule? What is preventing us from becoming the salt and the light of the world? Jesus is referring to two elements: salt and light. We know that salt is used to flavour food, to preserve the meat and fish and is also known for its healing qualities. Then light reveals what is hidden. Then God said, “Let there be light” (Gen. 1:3).

Setting An Example – 1 Timothy 4:12

Even children form part of this amazing thing that we call the Body of Christ or the Church. They are not simply here to only play games or be entertained, but are here to take part in the life of Jesus Christ. Timothy and Titus were not actually pastors in the traditional sense but they were sent into areas/churches that were experiencing problems. Timothy was roughly 35 years old and considered to be a young man in comparison to the other leaders in the church. He was sent to correct the problem of false teaching but he was having difficulty communicating with them.

Prayer, Our Relationship With God

I want to focus on our relationship with God, how to pray effectively and how to hear accurately. For any relationship to succeed, communication is important. You cannot go through life having a relationship with a person and never talking to one another. It is important to communicate, even more so in our relationship with God. It is important to know what to say and when to say it. We need to understand that it is not just us talking to God, but God is continuously talking to us. There is a time for us to listen to what God is saying to us. […]

Abigail’s Heart In A Time Of Change

After the death of Samuel a massive shift took place for the people of God. That which God instituted, His rulership as it was executed through the prophet, had changed. Samuel was part of the judiciary of God. He moved in places like Gilgal, Mizpah and Bethel. He always returned to his home in Ramah but he functioned through God and in what God instituted. The people of God were not happy. The elders came to Samuel with a request for a king to be over them (1 Sam. 8:6). According to them Samuel was getting too old and there were problems in his household, his sons did not walk in God’s ways.

Our Born Identity

We normally ask the question: Who are we and why are we here? Why were we born? What the world wants us to believe is that our identity is formed by circumstances and challenges that we face while we are growing up. Our identity is actually in God. From the very beginning when God created man He said, “I am creating man in my own likeness and image” (Gen. 1:26). That is who we are. Circumstances cannot influence our identity.

Live By The Spirit, Enter His Rest

In the subject of rest, I want to link it to the outer man, the man of flesh as opposed to the man of spirit. We can only walk in rest if we walk according to the Spirit. So that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit (Rom. 8:4-5). If we define a walk according to the Spirit, it is a way of walking. Many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned (2 Peter 2:2).

Another Day Is Fixed – Today

Another word for ‘fixed’ is ‘unchanging’. Now it came about after the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ servant, saying, “Moses My servant is dead; now therefore arise, cross this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them, to the sons of Israel. Every place on which the sole of your foot treads, I have given it to you, just as I spoke to Moses. …

An Encounter With God

Only a personal encounter with the Lord can truly transform someone’s heart. An encounter with religion will simply not do it. God is Spirit, and the only way we can truly encounter Him is on a spirit level. This is what Jesus explained to Nicodemus when He said we have to be born again to enter God’s kingdom. Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit” (John 3:5-6). Having a public conversion is not the only way to have a salvation encounter. We need to evaluate an encounter by internal transformation rather than external manifestation. Even a quiet surrender to Jesus in the privacy of a home is a true salvation encounter if it brings internal transformation by the Holy Spirit.

Be Released From Futility – Be Loaded With God

We need to believe that we are complete in Christ. The Word of God is clear that we have everything pertaining to life and godliness (2 Pet. 1:3). We will not find a release for ourselves or grow if we focus on our faults and try to correct them. Much of our feelings and our thought- life centers on our lack, our shortcomings and our unfruitfulness. Many times, it is in a period of our life when there is a cutting away. God is a skillful gardener and He knows what to cut away from our lives if it is unfruitful. [That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]! (Eph. 3:19 Amplified). When it seems that there is no growth and there is futility in our lives, we need to be filled with God. We need to be filled with Him when we go through periods of unfruitfulness and futility.

Hear The Voice Of Your Father

The apostle Paul had this to say about true fathering: “For if you were to have countless tutors (instructors=boy-leaders) in Christ, yet you would not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel” (1 Cor 4:15). The present loss of power and the current dilution and confusion in the wider church, is due to the fact that we do not discern between the voice of many instructors and that of true spiritual fathers.

How Do You Perceive God? (The Unchangeable One)

God is dealing with us individually and corporately, but are we ready for the next level? Are you ready for God to take action? Can God deal with us as mature people? He wants to give us more responsibility and He chastens every son. There will be babes because we are a family but there also need to be mature ones to carry that which God has given.

“I Am With You” – The Joseph Story

Although Christianity has done a lot of good in the initial phase of evangelism, unfortunately it has subconsciously created a sense of an outward expectancy. It made us believe that the answer to whatever our question may be is somewhere else, but not inside of us. We wait for somebody to come to save or liberate us. In South America there is a liberation theology movement where the expectancy is that God will come liberate everyone from financial, political and social situations.

What Is Really In My Heart?

God is busy dealing with us and will not let us off the hook. We want to finish strong. We often pray, “Lord grant me the desires of my heart.” When God looks at man and judges us, He looks at the heart. Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually (Gen. 6:5). God was sorry that He made man and repented (Gen. 6:6). He did not say that easily but when He looked at the heart of man He saw that something was gravely wrong. Throughout the Scriptures God looked at the heart of man as a barometer and a test to see where they are.

The Father’s Longing

I want to share with you a few thoughts about the Father’s heart. We need to awaken to the reality of God’s heart for us. Therefore the Lord longs to be gracious to you, And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you. For the Lord is a God of justice; How blessed are all those who long for Him. O people in Zion, inhabitant in Jerusalem, you will weep no longer. He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry; when He hears it, He will answer you.

Eat Your Fruit

We have to concentrate on the proceeding Word. Let the proceeding word become our food. Let there always be spiritual food on the table, that which has nothing to do with finances or the economy. You have spiritual food. Impartation of the Word of God into the lives of people must change men and women. The man who has two tunics is to share with him who has none; and he who has food is to do likewise (Luke 3:11). For I long to see you so that I may impart some spiritual gift to you, that you may be established (Rom. 1:11). He was saying, “That I may give you one of my tunics”. That is only part of impartation. If you do not use the tunic, then impartation was in vain. We have the best teachings and there is impartation, but sometimes we do not put on the tunic that has been imparted, we hang it up. Use it, so that the impartation can bring us into maturity.

As He Is, So Are We In This World

When we understand who we are then it is easier for us to do what we need to do. Our doing comes out of who we are. If we cannot wait to stop doing what we are doing so that we can be ourselves, then there is a problem. Who you are needs to be reflected in what you are doing. Your doing is the outworking of who you are. We are going to talk about who we are and how an understanding of who we are propels us into the freedom to be who we are. Jesus said: “I am the light of the world” (John. 8:12), and then He said “you are the light of the World” (Matt. 4:15). Jesus said: “this is who I am and for you to see who I am, I need to help you understand who you are, because I am your Brother. You are co-heirs with Me to all Our Father has given us.”

How God Sees Us

The greatest privilege is the present-tense Presence; the I Am. It is the greatest promise of eternal God, the consciousness of His presence. Everything else becomes strangely dim in the light of this glory and grace. Even though man’s idea of God has changed so much, God’s idea has never changed; God’s mind is made up about man. It is an incredible solid assurance, conviction, security that He knows, and it is a privilege to come to the knowledge that He knows. We have been birthed through the incorruptible Logos (1 Pet. 1:23). He has given us the Spirit of His Son and we cry out “Abba Father” (Gal. 4:6). We are sons and co-heirs together with Christ (Rom. 8:17). Nothing that You have created can so express who You are than those who You made in Your image and likeness (Gen. 1:27).

The Thrust Towards Maturity

There is a concern from authentic spiritual fathers because of the immaturity of the people of God at large. When there are absent fathers in the natural, it can be destructive and disastrous for families. If there is a fatherless generation and children are growing up without biological fathers, they land up on the streets. The social and psychological problems are sometimes beyond repair. When you bring love back and a sense of fathering to them, there is a vast improvement. Spiritually speaking it is necessary to have fathers who are not absent. God has given this grace to the Church. I do not write these things to shame you, but to admonish you as my beloved children. For if you were to have countless tutors in Christ, yet you would not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel (1 Cor. 4:14-15).

Freedom And Responsibility

Freedom and responsibility seem to be two mutually exclusive ideas. Responsibility seems to be the absence of freedom, as it binds one to a task or duty of oversight. That may come in the form of nurturing, caring for, protecting or preserving something. Freedom is a word we associate with being without care or concern for anything or anyone. Actually these truths are irrevocably linked to one another. Many of us know and have experienced the gradual progression of freedom in our coming of age, and we were allowed to make decisions without having to consult our parents, teachers, pastors etc. In the same way, as we boldly go forth making decisions, we are expected to calculate the repercussions of our decisions. We are therefore held responsible for the outcome of our decisions. It is expected of us to be considerate, not only of ourselves but also those whom our decisions will affect. So as you get older, you are allowed to make bigger and bolder decisions, but you are also expected to work out what those decisions mean for everybody around you.

Complete Sacrifice – Giving The First

The people were trampling one another to hear Jesus. Someone in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me” (Luke 12:13). Jesus’ response was somewhat insensitive, but this question shows what was in the man’s heart even after hearing all Jesus’ sayings. The parable continues with a story of a man who did things only for himself. He said to another man, “Follow me.” But he replied, “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.” Jesus said to him, “Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God” (Luke 9:59-60). A strange response! He needed to consecrate his life to the Lord, live a life of denial, separated unto the Lord.

Being An Imitator Of Christ

The conviction of our heart is that Jesus has overcome. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world (John 16:33). So many people try to take the risk out of life. We want to know where we are going. We want to ensure a good result at the end of our choices. The unfortunate truth is that we can never strip life of its mysterious qualities. Unpredictable things are going to happen but that is what our faith is about; walking true and walking faithfully before our God in a world that does not even recognize that He exists. That is part of our humanity; that is who we are. We are not to wish away our humanity for this is exactly what God came to save.

From Many Comes One

What I will share this morning will come as a reminder. Peter was concerned about the short-sightedness of individuals. Everything that goes into a life of pleasing God has been miraculously given to us by getting to know, personally and intimately, the One who invited us to God. The best invitation we ever received! We were also given absolutely terrific promises to pass on to you—your tickets to participation in the life of God after you turned your back on a world corrupted by lust. So don’t lose a minute in building on what you’ve been given… (2 Pet. 1:3-9).

God Is Love

We as Christians have the greatest edge on love, when we think of what God did, He sent His Son to rescue us, to lavish His love upon us. As we come into a relationship with Jesus Christ we can participate in the absolute fullness of God’s love. It is the foundation, the philosophy and the deepest truth that we as Christians believe in and want to live out. The foundation of our core belief system is love and acceptance. When we interact with the world that is what we are imparting, not the knowledge about love, but the heart of love

I Will Be Found By You

There are a lot of transitions happening but the greatest thing about transition is the feeling of support from the family. The transition will go nowhere without us being connected to one another. Seasons have changed within the church and there is no doubt in my mind that we have only cracked the surface of what God wants to do in this amazing community. He wants to blow our minds and I am committed to that journey. The famous German reformer, Martin Luther said, “The Church is always to be reformed”.

Service As A Form Of Worship

We can develop a Christianity which is “nice” and we show kindness in the workplace and everyday life, but is that all there is to Christianity? Is it the maximum we can do once we have decided to be renewed in the grace of God? I am convinced more is required of us. If you consider yourself a new creation you are no longer driven by a thirst for success and materialism or even a happy and good life, but you are compelled to see all men reconciled to the God of heaven.

God’s Dealings – His Righteous Judgements

We need to submit to the dealings of God in our lives, otherwise there can be no growth, newness cannot come in our lives and we are not able to upgrade. If we do not upgrade, we stagnate, then life cannot flow. If we speak of His righteous judgement in our lives, we immediately think of the negative. Even if there is overwhelming evidence that we are not guilty, there is still anxiety because we do not know what the judgement is going to be. In the judgement we are victorious because God has made known to us His acts (Rev. 15:1-4).

Church: The Centre Of Society

We live in the confidence and assurance of this verse; that no matter what happens, the kingdom of God is always on the increase. Our God is above all things, yet chooses to be intimately engrafted in both the trivial and the significant moments of our lives. It is a constant realm of Lordship that rules in our hearts, minds, and spirits; giving shape to us as an individual part of a community built across history. Unless we are submitted to the leading of the Spirit, we cannot engage, interact with or see this Kingdom.

A Faith Perspective Changes Everything

We are God’s heavenly family on earth, which means we become part of something eternal the moment we accept God’s love for us and the sacrifice Jesus made for us on the cross. Our faith brought us into sonship. The faith choice that we made not only links us to God but also to every believer who is on the earth. We are united together in faith. This gives us an image of the global Church. It is the family of God on the earth, ready to demonstrate how wonderful and amazing our God is.

As we continue to sit under the word, we need to recognise our responsibility to ‘Train ourselves in godliness’ (1 Timothy 4:7). A Generation Following The Ways Of Their Fathers

God builds generationally; God builds from father to son. God deposits a certain grace, a certain DNA and that is what He wants transmitted from one generation to another. When God starts a move in a grace carrier, he pioneers and moves forward by the Spirit of God and God wants to impart that to sons to continue what He is saying. There needs to be a double portion, a higher level but we always see a situation where it comes to a complete halt. Why is it that God always has to start again with another generation?

Time To Name Things

You are an oracle by the One who dwells in you. It is easy to say. “I will do this” and “I will do that,” but can you say, “I am”? That is the challenge. The revelation of our identity must come to us. We must become relevant on the earth today. We are living in a time/space where there is a demand on us to give expression to what we claim. We have all this knowledge but do we truly know Him?

Prayer – An Attitude Of Heart

Prayer is an attitude of heart. When the Scriptures talk about praying without ceasing it means being in communion with God at all times. Observing our busy lives we wonder how we can fulfil this Scripture. The main thing is our relationship with God, and how much we communicate with Him. We are born with a natural desire to communicate with out Creator. It is a quest and a seeking that one comes to at certain times and seasons in our lives, there something more than living our lives day by day, doing the same old thing. There is something more, a lot more; we would hate to feel that this is all there is to it; our worship, our prayer life, our quest for our Creator! Our prayer life is the foundation of who we are as Christians; it is the life that we live. “God I am asking, I am knocking, I am seeking. What are the answers? Why don’t you answer my prayers? Why are people still hurting? Why are people still dying and there is still so much pain?”

The Migration Of Abraham To A New Priestly Order

This morning I want to speak about God’s desire for a kingdom of priests. “Now, behold, I have taken the Levites from among the sons of Israel instead of every firstborn, the first issue of the womb among the sons of Israel. So the Levites shall be Mine (Num. 3:12). This speaks of a priesthood that is God’s own possession. God has given the Levites from Aaron and his sons, to minister as priests before the Lord. But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; (1 Pet. 2:9). I want to speak this morning of a new priesthood that was God’s original intention.

Moderate Culture or Kingdom Culture?

C. S. Lewis said, “Christianity if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is of moderate importance”. Do you agree with this? If, yes, then do you as individual live this way? Only you can answer this question truthfully. There are two potential cultures that emerge in the Church, since there are obviously none in the Church that believe Christianity is of no importance. The first is one of moderate culture and one of kingdom culture; those who see Christianity as moderately important, and the second is those who see it as infinitely important.

Being Instruments Of His Righteousness

The Bible tells us that God manifest Himself in certain places and makes appointments in certain places. God deeply loves South Africa, and all of Africa. All creation has a heavenly plan, it has one eternal purpose and everything in creation is aligned to this purpose. God is doing something in South Africa, in this city. There is something in this land that is attracting God’s glory. God has an eternal plan and we need to come out of our own plans and align ourselves to His plan. This will give purpose to our lives.

Where Are You?

When I heard the word on transition, I felt the Holy Spirit asking me, "Where are you?" If you do not know where you are, you will not get to where you want to go. We need to know where we are, but also who we are in Christ, individually and corporately. How far have we walked with and in this word of the kingdom that is coming to this household? Has it become a part of our lives? Does it influence our work situation? Does it affect our friendships and our home and family?

Transition: Look, Discern, Position

There are three key actions that will facilitate a successful transition: Look, Discern, and Position. The Lord gave me a key phrase regarding the Bizweni ministry – “Look what the Lord has done!” and this will be our point of departure to consider some transition principles. With this we do not disregard the efforts and sacrifices of God’s people through whom this work was established, we simply recognize that it could not happen without the Lord’s sovereign empowerment, grace and guidance.

Water For The Exodus

Transitions take up the majority of your life; we are always transitioning from one place to another. A transition can be from being saved to being in the kingdom; from immature to mature. Transitions are a very important part of how we go from the start to the end. How do we define a transition? Where does it end? Where did it start? It feels like it is moving along at a very steady but slow pace. When the Israelites transitioned from Egypt it took them forty years! So we are not doing too badly but I do feel we have reached an apex in our transition. Our pilgrimage has reached a point where we are offered the best perspective we have ever had. This does not mean we have reached the end of our journey.

The Future Is Embedded In The Present (Understand The Season You Are In)

The future is embedded in the present, it is not what is to come; it is what is already here that will determine whether we are shapers of the future or running to catch up with it. God has a future for us and we need, however challenging, to co-operate with the future. God often puts us in the deep end and we realise with His hand underneath us lifting us up we can swim better than we thought, God is with us all the way.

The Presence Of Grace / Grace: Give As Good As You Get

We must remain adaptable and answerable to God and listen to His voice and His Spirit that is leading us into new places. We are being challenged on some of our habits, but some habits and traditions will always remain, and one of those is preaching the Word of God. We do it to edify the Body; through the public reading of Scripture we exalt our God by remembering His goodness over generations and generations. The Bible is not philosophy book, but it is telling us of the goodness of God right from the first people ever created.

The Ethics Of Making A Good Decision

Most disagreement amongst Christians is in the area of ethics. There are so many opinions. Let us look at the ethics of making a good choice. “Ethics” are the moral principles that govern a person or group’s behaviour; how you discern between good and bad. We inherit our moral vision mainly from our families and communities, but we need to be flexible and open minded when we come to the topic of ethics. We need to have ears to hear what the Spirit is saying.

We Are A Blessed Word Of God

Bizweni, perform your sonship; everything starts with obedience. Obedience comes before faith. Faith comes after you say, “Yes Lord!” Then God comes and will honour your obedience. You do not give to get back but you give because of obedience. We know He will supply all our needs. If God blesses something, He invokes Himself in what He blesses and it starts to multiply. He speaks to Himself, He calls upon Himself in such things that He blesses, and out of that things start to multiply. When I pray for or bless someone, I speak to the Christ in that man or in that situation.

The Garments, Position And Anointing Of Sonship / Christ The Transformer Of Culture

The order of father and son is not simply one theme among many; it is the foundational principle for all spiritual understanding in the Kingdom. Many people in Church are born into the Kingdom without any spiritual father and live as orphans lacking heritage and searching for identity. The order of father to son has been lost in many churches today. This order is the basis of spiritual inheritance and the basis of the generational blessing.

The Excellence Of Love

I’m going to touch on 3 words today, identity, relationship and community. Starting with identity, do we know who we are in Christ? Not who we are in ourselves, but in Christ because we do not boast in/of ourselves. We have no right to do that, but Christ is in us. Through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God (Rom 5:2). The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him (Rom 8:16-17).

Heaven’s Peace – Earth’s Revolt

Some have the understanding that the connection between the physical and the spiritual is only at death. The Scriptural language that heaven is ‘above’ could have only come after the fall. The heavens and the earth were created in one spoken word. Adam was strolling through the garden with God, spiritual and physical were the dwelt together. After the fall we understand there was a spiritual death and it caused a break in the relationship.

Our Participation In The Gospel

When He had said these things, He cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth.” The man who had died came forth, bound hand and foot with wrappings, and his face was wrapped around with a cloth. Be In Active Dialogue With Surrounding Culture

In recent years there’s been a shift away from institutional religion, from the way we come to church, the way we commit ourselves to a denomination, our allegiance pledged to the name of a church rather than to God. It’s moved towards something of a journey. People want a journey of self-experience. People are trying to build a framework for themselves through which they can interpret life’s every day events, and find meaning in it.

Participate In Becoming Who We Really Are

The word “participation” means to take part, to be involved, to engage, to perform, to join, to enter into, to have a hand in, and to get in on the act. Getting in on the act stimulates something. Participation implies partnership (Phil. 1:5). Out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the sky, and brought them to the man to see what he would call them; and whatever the man called a living creature, that was its name (Gen. 2:19). God’s intention with man was spelled out in this passage. Man was not a mindless robot pre-programmed to react in certain ways.

My openness to the Word will determine the effectiveness of the Word in my life. The world is waiting for the revealing of the Son of God – in the sons of God. And His voice shook the earth then, but now He has promised, saying, "YET ONCE MORE I WILL SHAKE NOT ONLY THE EARTH, BUT ALSO THE HEAVEN" (Heb. 12:26). The Kingdom Of Heaven – A Different Operating System

God really wants us to inherit the earth. In the Beatitudes, Jesus is laying the foundations of the Kingdom and how you and I are going to operate in the Kingdom. The Sermon on the Mount was one of the first lessons the disciples received. Jesus spoke Aramaic; He said to them, Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. When you talk about being ‘poor in spirit,’ you are talking about humility. In Aramaic the word ‘poor’ is to devotedly hold onto something of great value, in the sense that one would be poorer for the lack of it. You are poorer for not having it.

Kingdom Culture Meets Christian Culture / Heaven’s Value System On Earth

Presently there seems to be a difference between Kingdom culture and Christian culture. The meaning of culture: ‘the arts and other manifestations of human intellectual achievement regarded collectively. The totality of socially transmitted behaviour patterns, arts, beliefs, institutions and all other human products of work and thought.’ Culture is something that is in our nature, something that is represented and manifested collectively. It’s represented in a body of people, a group. We don’t have a collective culture that we know as Christianity. Instead of unity rooted in the Word, what we have are denominations built upon the science of interpretation.

Not only was the Lord letting His people be carried away into captivity, He also told them, “Settle in; don’t be in a hurry; build houses and gardens. Do the normal things and infiltrate Babylon” (Jer. 29:1-7). There is a principle here. God caused his people to be carried away into captivity. Why would He want to do this? Remember how God struggled to get them out of Egypt. Ten plagues later, 40 years of walking in the wilderness to get the slave mentality out of the people; then He takes them into Babylon. It doesn’t make sense; but God’s thinking is far above ours. The question remains, Why take the people into captivity? They didn’t really have a choice. The choices were “stay and die” or “go and live” (Jer. 21:8-9). There were people who stayed and people who left.

A Family At Hebron Destined For Zion

God has led us over the years – precept upon precept, line upon line. God wants us to be a covenant community. The Kingdom of God is about relationships; bone-to-bone. It is about a kindred spirit; self-interest has to go. We have to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. We are not called to sacrifice our individuality, but our individualism – this will cause a pioneering thrust. Help one another – strength is not for status but for service. A covenant community, reflecting kingdom values, doesn’t function in a vacuum – it’s relational, a caring community with a shepherd’s heart; a spiritual family – not an institution with a constitution. Spiritual fathering is for spiritual maturity; biblical discipline through faith and love. We are to bring our purposes into alignment with whatever God wants – without enforcement or legalism, but with Father God presiding. There is an empowering love for our next generation.

You Are In This World But Not Of It

Do you sometimes find yourself in a place where you think, ‘It cannot possibly be God who led me here’? When Daniel grew up as a young Jewish boy, he had no idea that he would end up serving the kingdom of Babylon. Babylon, as we term it, would be the systems of this world;and it would be hard for a man of God to be serving those systems. Take careful note of everything that happened in his life. Daniel determined in his heart that he would not defile himself by eating the king’s dainty food. The king’s plan was to take these young men, teach them the language, the literature and the culture of the Babylonians and use these to break down the culture of the Jewish nation.

Expose And Dismantle The Kingdoms Of This Age

As the kingdoms of this age are exposed, they get dismantled. Where the light comes, darkness dissipates; it flees. What is in the darkness is exposed in the light. Take no part in and have no fellowship with the fruitless deed – things that are not important, waste our time, or sap our energy – and enterprises of darkness, but instead let your lives be so in contrast as to expose and reprove and convict them (Eph. 5:11- Amp). (Reprove means to take to task; bring conviction). The word is clear; Christ prays, “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven.” How does the Kingdom of God operate on the earth, if not through His sons? His first-born son, Jesus Christ, understood this. Jesus was saying to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner” (John 5:19). Jesus Christ is operating in the realm of His Father. If we have Christ within us, we can live in this realm – to hear clearly and expose the devises of the kingdoms of this age that try to choke us. If we live in the Spirit and not according to the flesh, then we will hear clearly. We need to be continually washed by the living Word and by the presence of God.

Doorway To An Unveiling

Creation is longing, in travail, for the revealing of the sons. God is unwrapping us, releasing us – revealing what He’s truly put inside. What are the things that are veiling us and stopping the sons being revealed? Lack of self esteem is one of the biggest things that hold us back. We don’t think we’re good enough to be a son of God, so we don’t allow God to unwrap us. Religion – putting ‘fig leaves’ on to cover up. Being busy is stopping us from being revealed as sons.

What Will Hasten The Day?

There’s a tension between the spoken Word, the proceeding Word, and the fleshing out of the Word; its fulfillment in our lives. This must not become an excuse for us not to walk in what God has given to us. Are we a Kingdom people? We pray, “Let Thy Kingdom come; let Thy will be done in this earth, in us, as it is in heaven.” “Behold, days are coming," declares the LORD, "When the plowman will overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him who sows seed; when the mountains will drip sweet wine, and all the hills will be dissolved (Amos 9:13).

Let’s Consider Our Ways

We must never forget that our progress is as fast as the weakest person among us. The sooner we can take our brother or sister by the hand and make sure they’re okay, the sooner we will move on. Jesus told the story of the 100 sheep and the 99 that made it home, but there was one who was not there. What did the shepherd do? He went back to get the lost sheep. If it is God’s intention to make sure that everyone gets in, shouldn’t that be our intention? In John 3:17 it says that no one should be lost. That’s God’s plan. We’re not just in this for ourselves; it is about caring for one another. We should all consider our ways in this regard.

In Him We Live

In Him we live (Acts 17:28), in Him we move and in Him we have our being. We have been created by God. He put things in place for you to be here; you are not here by chance. You are here for a plan and a purpose. God didn’t leave you fatherless. As Paul explained, God does not live in shrines, He lives in us.

Multiplication In The Image Of God

Series: Other Speakers

Sun am 27 February 2011 – Shane Egypt

1 Sam.30:10 Judges 7:8; Heb. 3:15; Gen. 1:26-28; Gen. 6:1-22;  Heb. 11:7; Gen. 11:1-9; Dan. 2:26-45; John 12:24; Dan. 2:44; Dan.  4:30-32; John 12:24; John 17:21

Let each and every son in this house come to the place where he says, “I want to be part of that company that goes and fetches the spoils so that the body of Christ can benefit.”

We are talking about multiplication in the image of God. God will bless the original formula for multiplication when man was created in His image and His likeness. He would not have said to them “multiply” unless they were an exact representation of His nature. We have developed many ways to multiply and make things grow, but does it carry the blessing of God if it is not an exact representation of His nature? We need to get to the point where we realise that other formulas and programmes may not necessarily carry the Father’s blessing. Ultimately God wants to fill the earth with Himself in the many-membered body of Christ.

Jesus Has Made Room For Us, We Must Occupy The Space

Series: Other Speakers

Sun am 16 January 2011 – Sam Festus

John 14:1-4; Eph. 2:6; John 14:5-6, 8-9, 12-14, 16-18, 25-26; Ps. 119:43, 142, 151; Hebrews 4:7, 12, 15

“Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. And you know the way where I am going. Thomas *said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?” (John 14:1-5).  Many people understand that this Scripture means that Jesus has gone to heaven and that He is coming back again to fetch us. We need to go a little further this morning. Jesus is under the assumption that you and I, who have come into the Kingdom of God, know the way. “And you know the way where I am going.” This is The Master saying that we know the way. Jesus went away to prepare a place for us.

Press On To Maturity

Series: Other Speakers

Sun am 9th January 2011 – Shane Egypt

Phil. 3:12, 14; Gal. 4:19; 1 John 2:1, 12-14; Heb. 5:12-14; Eph. 4:13-16; John 17:20-21; Luke 1:31-38

I want to speak to you about the phrase, “press on to maturity.” I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus. I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus (Phil. 3:12, 14). This is not to say that we are infants or immature, but I want us to reflect on the process and the growth path that we all need to live in and aspire to. We know that when we come to God and we give our lives to Him, we are newly born, we are babes; we are infants. If you have been living with God for a while and you hear His Word everyday, and you still remain an infant, there is a problem. Is it a problem with the Holy Spirit? Is there a problem with God? Planning In God’s Will

Series: Other Speakers

Sun am, 2 January 2011 – Adriaan Pretorius

The start of a new year has always been a time for looking back to the past, and more importantly, forward to the coming year. It’s a time to reflect on the changes we want (or need) to make and how to follow through on those changes.

I have done some research on this topic and found that even New Year’s Resolutions have now been commercialised. You get the top ten list for instance and with it comes a whole lot of suggestions, all costing something of course. There is also a strong indication that people do make the same resolution year after year after year… […]

The Progression Of David Through The Three Feasts (Behold we are your bone and your flesh)

Series: Other Speakers

Sun am 5th December 2010 – Daniel van Eeden

Matt. 6:13; Col.1:13-15; Ex.19:6; 1 Pet. 2:9; 2 Sam. 5:6; 2 Sam. 5:1; 2 Sam. 5:8; 2 Sam. 5:12; 1 Sam. 16:13; 1 Sam. 17:28-29; 1 Sam. 17:31; Heb. 4:1-3; Heb. 3:15

The Old Testament is full of types and shadows in order for us to understand God’s ways, how He works with us and where He wants to take us. The Bible has not been written primarily to convey historical or geographical facts, but to teach us spiritual realities and the purposes of God.

David was a servant and a carrier of grace, through whom God worked. He can also be seen as a type of Jesus, a redeemer of his people.  We find David in the cave of Adullam, fleeing from Saul. From the cave, he went to Hebron, and from Hebron to Jerusalem or Zion; three seasons in David’s life. […]

Have You Sent God a Hallmark Card?

Series: Other Speakers

Sun am 26 September 2010 – Hazel Swart

(Luke 18:9-14); Matt. 6:1-15; (Matt. 7:7-11)

I want to speak about our communication with God and how important it is, and how much it affects our lives. A Pharisee and a taxman went to pray in the temple. The Pharisee spoke to God about what a good person he was, but the taxman could hardly lift his head. We know who went away blessed.

We sometimes send God a “Hallmark card”, it is already written out, we don’t have to put our heart into it; we just sign our name. He’s really interested in what is going on in our lives. We find so little time to sit with Him in a secluded place and to talk to Him. If you are not doing the basic principles, the apostolic Word that puts us on the road is not going to work for us. If you as an individual are not healthy and whole, you cannot not make up the corporate. […]

Infecting The World With Jesus

Series: Other Speakers

Sun am 8th August 2010 – Daniel van Eeden

Eph. 4:4-13; John 18:5-6; Rom. 10:8; Matt. 10:40-41; John 1:14 (Message); Eph. 1:22-23; John 6:48-51, 68; Isa. 55:1-3; John 6:63; John 1:1 ; John 12:24-25; 2 Cor. 4:10, 12

Therefore it says, “WHEN HE ASCENDED ON HIGH, HE TOOK CAPTIVITY CAPTIVE, AND HE GAVE GIFTS TO MEN.”(KJV) (Eph. 4:8). Jesus was one man in one body in one place at one time. This truth we are talking about is so simple that we might miss it, and if we knew and lived this truth we would have turned the world upside down by now. Jesus took captive His limitation of being one person at one place at one time and He poured Himself out into the gift ministries in His many-membered body. So where is Christ today? In His many-membered body!

The Journey Of A True Spiritual Son

Series: Other Speakers

Sun am 11 July 2010 – Shane Egypt

1 Kings 19:19-21; 2 Kings 2:1-10; 1 Sam. 7:16; Gen. 22:19; (1 Sam. 7:16); Phil. 2:20-22

God’s building pattern – the father-son relationship – has been revealed in the current living Word, and we need to embrace it fully. One of God’s building principles is that he builds generationally. He calls fathers to impart the DNA of Christ to their sons.

We will look at the journey experienced by Elisha and Elisha. Elisha went with Elijah. The sons of the prophets told Elisha that Elijah would be taken away from him. The Old Testament speaks in types and shadows and is an example for us. Elijah was a father ministry. The calling of Elisha was to be a father ministry but before that he had to become a son. He left everything behind and served Elijah.

My Gilgal Experience

Series: Other speakers

Sun am 4 July 2010 – Johan Cronje

Gen. 28:12-15; Gal. 6:15

We must realize that when we say “covenant” it means “to cut.” The sign of a covenant in the Old Testament was when a father took his son and he cut his flesh. In the new covenant we find that from time to time people were circumcised, not for salvation, but to release the son into the ministry. There is a spiritual circumcision that takes place in the life of a spiritual son, and a spiritual father is the one who handles that with care. Circumcision by a spiritual father is done by the apostolic word of God.

The Bible mentions three physical places that have great meaning for your and my spiritual journey. They are Bethel, Gilgal and the Jordan River. Bethel means “house of God”; a place where I have a revelation of God. Revelation knowledge is not the alpha and the omega. When you have an encounter with God, you don’t stand still at that encounter. The important thing to realize is that the encounter changes your life. Jacob was never the same again after that encounter. Bethel is a place where I commit myself to build for God, not for myself anymore.

Sons Who Know Their Identity Don’t Beg

Series: Other Speakers

Sun am 2nd May 2010 – Sam Festus

Amplified Version

Rom. 8:14-17; Gal. 3:26-28; Luke 15:25-27; Matt. 6:25-34

When a child is adopted, the father and mother make the choice to adopt. In the same way God has decided from the beginning of time that you and I will become His sons. Once a child is adopted, the father cannot say he does not want the child any more. The father has lost his right to give up the child.

As sons we have an inheritance, and we have to understand what that inheritance is. […]

Sons In The Hand Of A Father – A Double Portion Of Fruitfulness

Sun am 18 April 2010 – Johan Cronje

Matth 3:17;  Heb 5:5;  Zech.9: 13;  2Kings 2: 9-10;   Zep. 3: 17;  Ps. 127

Jesus did not launch into ministry without a Father. Remember the voice out of the heavens that said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased.” (Matt 3:17). From that day onwards, Jesus was launched into His ministry. There must be an acknowledgement from a father to a son that you are a son, so that your ministry can be fruitful. So also Christ did not glorify Himself so as to become a high priest, but He who said to Him, “YOU ARE MY SON, TODAY I HAVE BEGOTTEN YOU.” (Heb 5:5).

The Tenderness Of God Towards Us

Series: Other Speakers

Sun am 7th March 2010 – Hazel Swart

Rev. 2:1-7; 1 John 4:15-21;
1 Cor. 13:1-3 (Message); Eph. 4:31-32 (Message); Eph. 5:1-2 (Message)

We see in Acts 19:1 that Ephesus was definitely a church established by God. It was a church that received very little reprimanding about doctrinal teaching. But there was a warning; there was something that had to be overcome. According to Revelation 2:1-7, they had done all the right things but had lost their first love. Similarly we have done all the right things, we have worked hard, we have been steadfast; we have rooted out all the false doctrines and false people. […]

The Heart Of A Bondservant

Series: Other Speakers

Sunday am 15 November 2009 – Hazel Swart

Phil. 2:1-23; (John 5:19); (Luke 1:38); 2Tim. 2:20-21; Ps. 51:10-12; John 3: 16;

John 15:13-17; Matt. 22:37-39

Why would Jesus have come down to earth, leaving the place of deity, of unity knowing that He was going to be rejected? Why would He take on the form of a bondservant? His master was His own Father. It is not a position we want to be in, being the lowest form of existence. We are all called to be servants […]

Take The Word and Eat It

Gal. 5:13-14; Deut. 6:5; Rev. 10: 8-10; Ps. 40 6; Rom. 10:17

Are you ready to serve one another, submit to one another and wash each other’s feet? Servant hood is our assignment. “It is absolutely clear that God has called you to a free life. Just make sure that you don’t use this freedom as an excuse to do whatever you want to do and destroy your freedom. Rather, use your freedom to serve one another in love; that’s how freedom grows. For everything we know about God’s Word is summed up in a single sentence: Love others as you love yourself. That’s an act of true freedom” Gal 5:13-14.

Recognising and Living Out the Christ Within

Sun am 8 March 2009 Daniel van Eeden
Series: Other Speakers

Jude 1:5; Numbers 13:33; Ex.12:15; Luke12:1; (John 1:1); John 13:3-5, 14-17; Luke 10:25-28; Matt. 7:18-24; Matt. 25:34-46; Josh. 14:12

We have to move out of the realms of duplicity because the world out there is watching who we are, not what we say. It is not what we know that will make a difference it is who we are, it is what we do that will draw people to Christ.

God has a plan, so does Satan. Religion is Satan’s method of having his way in our lives, but love is God’s method. God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. Religion refuses to acknowledge Christ coming in this flesh; in you and me. Until that knowledge of Christ in us, hits us, becomes part of us, is incarnated in us, we will be powerless to change anything or do anything of significance for the Kingdom of God.

But then Christ came, and Paul explains: “…. in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles…”(Gal 3:14). Fulfilment came in Christ! […]
