(Eccl. 1:9); Jer. 18:1-6

I was always taught that there is nothing really original; there is nothing new under the sun (Eccl. 1:9). We have tasted of the powers of the age to come and we are experiencing something of the wonderfulness of God and being involved in His eternal purpose. The future is actually clearly written in the past. God’s original intention is what it is all about. He owns the world, the throne is His. His intention is original and He will not be taken off His course, the purposes of God will be fulfilled. God is busy building the original and it is in you and in me. He has always purposed to shape us, to make us, to mold us so that Jesus Christ is fleshed out in you and me. In our togetherness it is the most profound expression of it.

Let us look at God’s design for the original. The original is not religious; the original is about your humanity. Humanity is so important to God, when He kissed us with His Spirit He invested His divinity into us. When He baptises in the Spirit, He not only kissed us but embraced us and saturated us in His divinity.

This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: “Go down to the potter’s house, and there I will give you my message.” So I went down to the potter’s house, and I saw him working at the wheel. But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him. Then the word of the Lord came to me. He said, “Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?” declares the Lord. “Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel (Jer. 18:1-6). God is in the detail; the devil is not in the detail! The steps of the righteous man are ordered by the Lord; He is in the detail, the steps, one after the other. He is not aloof, He is great and He is in the detail. “Jeremiah, go to the potter’s house.” Why? “Because I do not want My words to be divorced from the daily routines of life. I do not want you to think that the only time I can speak to you is when you are in a meeting. I do not want you to compartmentalize My voice. I have a word for you. I want to be at the front and not the back of your life. My son, give me your heart. I want to talk to you in the daily routine of life.” God Almighty became man; He knows your daily routines. We do not want a religion that makes us unable to hear His voice. He can speak to us in our stupid state.

You must hear the word of God for your life, not leave it to the pastor, the prophet, or evangelist; you cannot leave it to somebody else. You must hear the word of the Lord for your life! You must become obedient. The number one question everywhere is: How do you know when it is the voice of the Lord? When God speaks, it is so real to you, it burns inside you and you know it is the Lord. It is not a strange sensation; it is something familiar. It is like a friend who has just deposited a word of direction into the bank of your spirit. When you listen to it and weigh it, there is not a religious bone in it. When God speaks it is a very clear instruction but not very wordy! Almost in one word or one phrase God can sum up the universe. We can absorb it without being confused and it ignites a flame inside you which is called faith, and simply you are seeing it. God speaks very eloquently, but with a smile, a sense of humour. Lighten up! Stop getting too intense. This is His original intention that He can walk with us, talk with us. God does not want you to become a hermit, He wants you to stand firm and walk this earth and experience heaven invading you.

God wants to show you something beautiful and He wants you to envision Him. The Lord wants to capture us with His vision. First of all He wants us to see the vision He has for us: “I want you to be like My Son, bear the characteristics with an original statement. I have chosen you; I have called you. I am shaping you, maturing you; I want you to have a meaningful conversation with Me. I want you to be able to recognize My voice in the crowd; I want you to understand the obedience that I require of you. I want you to understand that I am the Lord, I am the King, I do dictate, I do command, I do expect obedience. I do expect an expression of Myself in you to bounce back to me, because I have put so much into you of My love and My word. I want you be captivated by the vision of the kingdom.”

It is time to come to the potter’s house and get out of the stuffy place of religion. God is speaking to us and we must obey. The future is determined by how we allow God to shape us now.

“Can I not do with you what I want?” That is the word of the Lord to this church. “Is it going to be your way or My way? What if I was to do with you what you were not expecting? If I could get some of these things away from you that are attached to you, that are robbing you, so that I can make you into a useful vessel for Me. It is a new season.” God help us in our lives and in this church to be obedient to Him.
