In Part 3 of Financial Stewardship, we look at the New Testament and learn that required giving is limited to paying taxes to governing authorities (Romans 13) and tithing is not commanded for the church. Free-will giving to God is governed by 10 principles: invest with God, give sacrificially, not a matter of what you have, affects spiritual riches, personally determined, in response to need, demonstrating love, planned, generous, results in God’s abundant blessing. True giving flows from a surrendered heart, and Jesus declares it is more blessed to give than to receive.
