The Gospel of Mark (Part 24)
Date: 18 January 2026
Speaker: Justus Swart
In Mark 8:1–10, the feeding of the four thousand shows Jesus’ deep compassion and His mission to reach all people, not just Israel. Set in a Gentile region, the miracle reveals that Jesus is enough, that He cares about both spiritual and physical needs, and that His Kingdom breaks down barriers. The repetition of this miracle exposes the disciples’ slow-growing faith and challenges us to consider how we respond when familiar problems return. Rather than forgetting what God has done before, the passage calls us to grow in trust, serve with compassion, and face repeated trials with greater confidence in Jesus’ faithful provision.
