The Gospel of Mark (Part 40)
Date: 30 August 2026
Speaker: Justus Swart
In Mark 11:22-25, Jesus teaches His disciples that effective prayer is not a formula for manipulating God, but an invitation to live in genuine dependence upon Him. As the Temple gives way to a people who themselves become God’s dwelling place, Jesus calls His followers to have faith in God, come boldly with their requests, surrender their desires to His will, and forgive those who have hurt them. Ultimately, prayer is not simply about asking God to change the circumstances around us, but allowing Him to search, transform and align the heart within us.
