Series: The Kingdom of God; The Holy Spirit

Sunday 29th May 2016 – Kobus Swart

 (Matt. 21:43); John 16:5-16; John 7:38-39;
Rom. 8:11, 19-29 (read also the Message Bible); 1 Cor. 6:14, 19;
(John 11:23-26);
1 Cor. 15:45; Titus 3:5; 1 Cor. 3:16; 2 Cor. 6:16;
John 14:23; Gal. 5:25;
2 John 7; Isa. 66:1-2

Speaking in tongues given to you by the Holy Spirit, is not to be discounted, it is still valid. Then there is also the gift of tongues. However there is more than that to the Holy Spirit baptism. We cannot allow patterns of previous seasons (no matter how blessed and anointed they were), to become an empty pattern where we try to force things to happen. Remember the example of Moses who was first told to hit the rock, and subsequently was told to speak to the rock. He hit the rock again because it has worked the previous time and missed the land of promise because of disobedience (Num. 20:8-12). We cannot repeat patters without listening to what God is instructing us now. (more…)

There is no Kingdom without the Holy Spirit. There is no true Christian without the Holy Spirit, and there is no born again or sonship experience without the Holy Spirit. These teachings should lead to a divine encounter and not remain just teachings. (more…)

Series: Holy Spirit

Sun am 26 January 2014 – Kobus Swart

Isa. 66:1-2; John 14:16-23; Gen. 8:9; Matt. 10:16; Eph. 4:30-32; (John 16:8); Rom. 8:14

This word has the potential to further equip all of us in the finer detail of having a walk with God. Thus says the Lord, “Heaven is My throne and the earth is My footstool. Where then is a house you could build for Me? And where is a place that I may rest? For My hand made all these things, Thus all these things came into being,” declares the Lord. “But to this one I will look, To him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word (Isa. 66:1-2). Does it sound possible that the Creator is looking for a place to stay? Becoming a home for Him is what it is all about. (more…)

Series: Sonship; The Holy Spirit

Sun am 29 September 2013 – Pastor Kobus Swart

Rom. 14:17; Rom. 8:14-23; Acts 16:6-10; (Acts. 14:22); Eph. 1:3-6; Gal. 4:1-5;
(Matt. 3:17); (Matt. 4:1); (Ps. 23:5)

Let us look at  (and submit to) a very important function of the Holy Spirit – the Spirit of adoption.

So often we experience inner adjustments and an enlarging for more of God. This stretching is not without pain and sometimes leaves us with questions. This is where we should not blame the devil. If we do not experience the continuous enlarging and stretching on the inside, there is the risk of stagnation. The Holy Spirit is bringing us to the place where every decision we make is led by the Spirit of God. The sons of God are those who are led by the Spirit of God (Rom. 8:14). The voice is no longer behind you, it is in you.

Notice how even the apostle Paul was tested in his obedience:  (more…)

Series: The Holy Spirit

Sun am 15 September 2013 – Pastor Kobus Swart

(John 3:5-8); Exod. 35:30-35; Judges 14:5-6, 19-20; Judges 15:14-15; Ps.51: 11;
(Gen. 1:1-2); Matt. 3:16; Luke 4:18; Acts 10: 38; Acts 1: 8; Acts 2:4; (Joel 2);
Acts 8:4-17; Acts 10: 44-45;
Acts 18:24-28; Acts 19:1-6; 1 Cor. 14:18-19; 1 Cor. 12:4-11, 30

God is always adding more insight as the seasons progress. One such area is about the Holy Spirit. The terminology “baptized by or of the Holy Spirit” is usually associated with the born again experience. We cannot be born again without the Holy Spirit (John 3:5-8). The terminology changes when it is an experience after being born again, when it is referred to as being baptized “in” or with” the Holy Spirit, and in many cases there is the evidence of the speaking in tongues.

Series: Finished Works, Holy Spirit

Sun am 8 September 2013 – Kobus Swart

(Ps. 119:130); 1 John 1:1-4; (John 6:63); Acts 2:1-4; (John 16:7); (John 20:19-23);

Rom. 8:9; 1 Thess. 1:5-8; 1 Thess. 2:13; Gal. 3:2-3; (Rom. 14:17)

What do we experience sitting under the word Sunday after Sunday? Does the Holy Spirit feature or do we just collect principles and knowledge? Are we allowing the Holy Spirit entrance? The entrance of His word gives light (Ps. 119:130). It goes beyond receiving it only mentally.

Without the Holy Spirit, anything else you might present as evidence to the world, will be meaningless. The Holy Spirit was never meant to be locked into a movement, specific group or church meetings. The Holy Spirit is God’s spirit. When the Spirit of God was vibrating on the waters; that was the spirit of God, (more…)

Series: Sonship, Holy Spirit

Sun am 22 August 2010 – Kobus Swart

(Gen. 3:8-11); Col. 1:13; Heb. 10:14; Psalms 144:12; Heb. 5:12-14; Rom. 7:5-7, 23-25; Rev. 21:7; Rom. 8:1-4, 6-8, 9-19; 1 Cor. 15:50; 1 John 2:16; 1 Cor.6:19; 1 Thess. 5:23

“For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren” (Rom 8:29).

God instructed Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden, “… from the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden… You shall not eat from it or touch it, or you will die.” (Gen 3:3). The spirit inside Adam died when they disobeyed God. In Christ the curse on humankind is broken. When we are born again our spirit comes alive. This is not, however, where it ends.
