Where the gospel of the kingdom is accurately proclaimed, God has promised to back it up with demonstration. I do not write these things to shame you, but to admonish you as my beloved children. For if you were to have countless tutors in Christ, yet you would not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel. Therefore I exhort you, be imitators of me. For this reason I have sent to you Timothy, who is my beloved and faithful child in the Lord, and he will remind you of my ways which are in Christ, just as I teach everywhere in every church. Now some have become arrogant, as though I were not coming to you. But I will come to you soon, if the Lord wills, and I shall find out, not the words of those who are arrogant but their power. For the kingdom of God does not consist in words but in power (1 Cor. 4:14-20). (2 Cor. 3:6); Jer. 1: 1-8; (Eph. 2:10); (1 Cor. 3:9)

Old Testament history is interesting, but it is more than history, more than stories. It is full of parables, types and shadows. Go a little deeper and you will find a message that applies to you. The letter kills but the Spirit gives life (2 Cor. 3:6). God is saying this to us personally, not just to Jeremiah: “… Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.” Then I said, “Alas, Lord God! Behold, I do not know how to speak, Because I am a youth.” But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am a youth, ’Because everywhere I send you, you shall go, And all that I command you, you shall speak. “Do not be afraid of them, For I am with you to deliver you,” declares the Lord (Jer. 1:1-8). In this case Jeremiah was indeed called as a prophet (more…)

Sun am 16 November 2014 – Justus Swart

(Luke 9:57-62); Ps. 24:1; (Gen. 1); Eph. 1:23(MSG); (Matt. 5:13-14); Matt. 10:16; John 20:21; Matt. 28:16-20; Mark 3:20-21, 31-35; John 13.3-17; Isa. 52:7-8; Ps. 119:105; Rom. 16:20; Prov. 4:26-27

Jesus was able to discern and address very directly the particular concerns of each moment. He saw each person that He encountered as historical, emotional and concrete beings and they were all searching for some measure of truth. That is exactly what He gave them, truth, whether they liked it or not (Luke 9:57-62). We can see that Jesus never compromised on the truth. He gave it straight and He gave it plain and simple, but we never see Him replicating a response. Jesus was able to speak the truth because He walked with two basic and essential assumptions. 2 November 2014 – Pastor Kobus Swart

(Gen. 1:19-20); (Gen. 6:9-22); (Ex. 35-40); (1 Chron. 28:11-20); (Eph. 1-4); (John 1:14);
Eph. 4:11-14; (Phil. 2:5-7); John 12:24 (Message); John 3:1-6 (Message); John 8:32;
(Matt. 5:13-16); Acts 19:1-7; (John 17:15-18)

We are looking at the role of the Church in the world. We are re-visiting some basics in order to maximise our impact on our surroundings.

This morning I want to look at the pattern Son, Jesus. I believe we have a model in Jesus as far as our role in the world is concerned. Throughout the Old Testament God’s servants were told to do certain things according to certain patterns given to them by God. For example we have the very specific instructions and patterns given to Adam, Noah, and Moses etc. In the past 70 years many different patterns emerged to make a church grow. There were different ways and formulas used as they searched for a pattern everywhere but in Scripture. (more…)

(Matt. 16:18); Eph. 3:10; John 13:35; John 15:18-20; John 17:14-18, 21;
(Matt. 11:19); (John 8:3-11);
2 Cor. 6:14-18; 1 Cor. 5:9-13;
Matt. 23:13, 25-27; 2 Cor. 5:18-21; (Rom. 6:8); (Eph. 2:6).

The true Church is God’s vessel in the earth. Jesus said, “I will build my Church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it” (Matt. 16:18). God wants to demonstrate His manifold wisdom through the Church to principalities and powers in heavenly places (Eph. 3:10). However, the word ‘Church’ has many meanings today which created a mind-set, a perception that takes away from what true Church is all about. (more…)

Sunday am 18 November 2012 – Kobus Swart

1 John 4:1-21; Heb. 1:1-3; Luke 2:41-49; (Rom. 8:19-22); (2 Cor. 5:16);

(Eph. 3:1-11); (Col. 1:27); (Isa. 9:7); (Heb. 12:4-8); (John 13:35); (John 3:16)

When Moses was at the burning bush where he met God in a very spectacular way, God commissioned him and Moses asked, “Who should I say sent me?” God said, “Tell them ‘I Am’ sent you” (Ex. 3:13-14). Did you ever ask why He said that? Maybe we will get closer to the answer if we listen to this word.

God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways,in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. … (Heb. 1:1-3). (more…)

1 John 1:1-4; Luke 4:1-13; 2 Cor. 3:1-3; Acts 1: 8

What non-Christians want to see in us is what we have experienced. What we have experienced will become visible to others. What will have an impact in this Western world is what is flowing out of us; our attitude, our smile, the tone of our voice. What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the Word of Life– and the life was manifested, and we have seen and testify and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was manifested to us–what we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ.  These things we write, so that our joy may be made complete (1 John 1:1-4). 1 Tim. 3:14-15; Eph. 2:1-22 (Message Bible)

Do you know that people in the world read you? We are living epistles, read and known by all men (2 Cor. 3:2). Before you even open your mouth, people look at how you react when there is a problem. Can you show a different attitude? Do you radiate a different kind of energy? Can people sense an anointing on your life before you even open your mouth? That is what people respond to. If Christians do not live the real Christian life, people will have a problem finding God. They will be put off from going to Church by the lack of positive testimony that we radiate.  (more…)
