We needed to activate worship and prayer on a deeper level. To grasp what the altar of incense reveals concerning worship and prayer we need to understand the tabernacle of Moses, and how this was a shadow of Christ and of the Church.
Col. 2:16-17 – Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ. (more…)

I want to focus on our relationship with God, how to pray effectively and how to hear accurately. For any relationship to succeed, communication is important. You cannot go through life having a relationship with a person and never talking to one another. It is important to communicate, even more so in our relationship with God. It is important to know what to say and when to say it. We need to understand that it is not just us talking to God, but God is continuously talking to us. There is a time for us to listen to what God is saying to us. (more…)

The Bible says, “Pray without ceasing” (1 Thess. 5:17). It does not necessarily mean you should go down on your knees and close your eyes.
The enemy comes as an angel of light and his ministries as ministries of righteousness (2 Cor. 11:14-15). He is so clever; he has chosen two aspects of God. Satan will quote Scripture to mislead and tempt you. Satan is a liar and the father of lies (John 8:44). He was a liar from the beginning, so how can a liar quote Scripture? (more…)

Prayer is an attitude of heart. When the Scriptures talk about praying without ceasing it means being in communion with God at all times. Observing our busy lives we wonder how we can fulfil this Scripture. The main thing is our relationship with God, and how much we communicate with Him. We are born with a natural desire to communicate with out Creator. It is a quest and a seeking that one comes to at certain times and seasons in our lives, there something more than living our lives day by day, doing the same old thing. There is something more, a lot more; we would hate to feel that this is all there is to it; our worship, our prayer life, our quest for our Creator! Our prayer life is the foundation of who we are as Christians; it is the life that we live. “God I am asking, I am knocking, I am seeking. What are the answers? Why don’t you answer my prayers? Why are people still hurting? Why are people still dying and there is still so much pain?” (more…)

The Bible talks about different kinds of prayer: the intercessory prayer, the travailing prayer, the petitioning prayer etc. God is adjusting the whole issue of waiting on the Lord and prayer so that we can become more effective in partnering with Him.
We must stop merely praying for something; our prayers must now shift to praying for the manifestation of the PERSON. (more…)

Theme: We ask and do not receive because we pray with the wrong motives. God’s silence is often an answer in itself. We need to wait on God and align ourselves to His will until we can pray God’s thoughts back to Him. We have this confidence that if we pray according to His will, He hears our prayers.

We’ve grown up with a certain concept of prayer. We may have moved on but still need a mind shift about prayer. God will hear the sincere prayers of anyone in any posture, but a lot of that posturing was just a religious exercise. You and I must become prayer expressed; we must become a walking prayer. The best definition of prayer is to engage the Spirit of God, and that you can do without ceasing. Wherever you are your spirit can be connected to God and prayer then becomes a two-way street.
