Abraham gave Isaac the instruction, “Do not marry any one from the daughters of Canaan.” They went to great trouble to find a woman who was in the right lineage. Also the same thing happened when Isaac instructed Jacob not to marry any of the daughters of Canaan. God was jealous of the Royal Seed line. We previously touched on the problem of mixed marriages, meaning those of the covenant people of God marrying those outside the covenant people – all pointing to God’s heart for purity.

This is how the New Testament approaches this subject: “Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: ‘I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.’ Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.” “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty” (2 Cor. 6:14-18).

Josh. 23:11-13; Deut. 5:9; Eph. 5: 22-32

Hebrews 1 captures this principle. God says of His Son: “…He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature”. This exact representation is on God’s mind, this is His plan. In the schemes of the devil, he attacks this principle and  introduces mixture. Jesus is the exact representation of the Father and the sons will be the exact representation of the Son (Rom 8:29). This principle must be protected. (more…)

In this study, we look at two sons – each in a different situation – who violated the father-son relationship and how that opened the door to an attack from the serpent on the Royal Seed line. (more…)

We refer you to the previous lesson in which we looked at the separation of the wheat and the tares(Matth 13), as well as the curse spoken to the serpent in Genesis 3:15. Throughout the Bible we find the two seed lines. On several major occasions the seed of the serpent has tried to interfere with the royal seed line of the Christ, and on several instances the royal genealogy has been affected. This scheme of the devil has surfaced every so often even throughout the church age.

Matt. 13:24-30, 36-43; Gen. 3:14-15; Gen.4:1, Gen. 6:1-9; 1-5, Mathew 24:37-39; (Daniel 3:25) Job 38:1-7; Job 1:6; Job 2:1; Gen. 19:1-5; 2 Peter 2:1-8; Jude: 6-8; (Eph. 6:12); (Eph. 3:10-11); (Rom. 16:20)

In Matthew 13, Jesus warns against the mixing of the seeds. In harvest time, the seed of the tares (“zewan”) first – before being ground – had to be separated from the wheat, or else the “zewan” would make the flour bitter and the bread would even become poisonous.

The Old Testament contains types and shadows which are only fully understood through the eyes of the New Testament. The city of Hebron in the O.T. can be considered as a ‘gene pool’ of apostolic principles which will help us for where we are today. Something that happened at Hebron will help us find the root cause of many problems in today’s churches.

So Abram went up from Egypt to the Negev, he and his wife and all that belonged to him, and Lot with him ….. The LORD said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him…(Gen 13:14). Now God speaks, after Lot has been separated. Why are you not hearing the Lord yet about your allotted portion? Because “Lot” is too close to you; he is still with you.

(Prov. 23:23); (Matt. 23:25-26);(2 Cor 3:3)

The 7 parables in Matthew 13 are known as parables of the Kingdom. Jesus uses parables for a specific reason; He wanted to explain the mysteries of the Kingdom. Whenever the Gospel of the Kingdom is being preached and proclaimed Biblically like it should, Satan will try to add his own contaminated seeds. “Jesus presented another parable to them, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while his men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went away’” (Matt. 13:24-25). A more accurate word for “tares” is “zewan”. (more…)
