A continuation in the study of following the promises given to us by God, Part Two pieces together the elements necessary for preparing our lives in anticipation of those promises. Here we study the importance of repairing and preparing the altar, followed by focusing on the special prayer prayed by Elijah before the fire of God fell from heaven. Lastly, we are encouraged to be persistent in seeking God’s ultimate provision, until we, like Elijah, see the clouds forming for rain.

God bestows promises to each of us as we journey with Him throughout our lives. The story of Elijah on Mount Carmel teaches us how best to follow these promises and see them through to fulfillment and provision. In Part One, we explore the first three factors necessary for Following the Promise by examining how we receive the promise, understanding that we will be misunderstood, and finally that only a single-minded focus on Christ will see us through to the end.
